The Blue Rivers of Bioluminescent Shrimp

The creative duo photographer Trevor Williams and Jonathan Galione has photographed off the coast of Okayama, Japan. The series unique thing is the weeping stones is a photo series that eerie blue light emitted by a native species of bioluminescent shrimp. Therefore, it is more usually referred to as sea fireflies, these sporadic creatures live in the sand in shallow sea water, floating somewhere between the extremes of high and low tide. At just 3 mm in length the shrimp are tremendously small light sources, but once grouped together they take on abstract patterns that light up the water around them.

In order to group such a large number of sea fireflies, or “Vargula Hilgendorfii”, they had to collect the creatures by enticing them with raw bacon into jars and repositioning their tiny bodies on the rocks. Photographing and placing the bioluminescent shrimp next to the shore ensured that the photographers did not harm them, and allowed them to quickly return the animals back to the water below. This fall, Tdub photo hopes to capture more bioluminescent pictures by focusing on glowing mushrooms. Although, you can see an earlier project the duo produced with bioluminescent shrimp on their website, and see more of their travels over on their Instagram and Facebook.

Combination of Natural Stone and Resin Coffee Table Brings the Relaxing Beauty of the Ocean Indoors

If you give a chance to make a table of excellence then how do you go about it? The talented designer Alexandre Chapelin of LA Table, indeed a masterful table should be exclusive and visually appealing. It has a soulful and something unique story to tell. It has to be contemporary and surprising. The coffee table story starts with a base of natural stone beautifully carved to replicate Earth’s plateaus and Cliffside’s as they plunge deep under sea level. However, it designed as models of the island of St. Martin in the French West Indies.

Though, Chapelin take a natural bock of natural stone and include resin to create a compact block to have the impression of having the ocean in your living room. So, Chapelin technique and the aesthetic charm behind his fresh design is a continuation of his Lagoon series. So, it celebrates the real beauty of planet earth vast bodies of water. Moreover their combinations of stone resin add a recognizable pairing of elements in the natural world and he used natural stone marries perfectly with the resin that represents the ocean. Furthermore, the distinctive piece of furniture is a study in oceanography, as well as a sole piece of decor to individualize any room it sits in. So, count the layers of rock and water within, and feel yourself get lost in its serenity.

Mesmerizing Kinetic Sculpture Glitters like the Sun

The Opening Ceremonies for the 2016 Olympics were extremely remarkable with amazing light projections and dazzling performances that lit up Maracanã Stadium, presents delighting viewers across the world. When the Olympic ceremony concluded attention turned towards the cauldron, a huge kinetic sculpture formed by artist Anthony Howe. Thus, it is measuring 40 feet in diameter; and massive two-ton piece symbolizes the sun with elegant, enthralling movements that represent the journey of life.

The elegant sun sculpture shining brightly in the darkened stadium, the spiraling metallic elements glittered with illumination that undulated above the crowd. The artist says my vision was to replicate the sun, by using movement to mimic its palpitating energy and reflection of light. I’m hoping what people take away from the cauldron, the Inaugural Ceremonies, and the Rio Games themselves is that there are no limits to what a human being can accomplish. Hence, this dazzling show captivates the heart of entire audience. Moreover to witness the sculpture’s hypnotic effect, see it in action, below.

Magical Images of Japan’s Annual Flurry of Fireflies

Each year when summer comes along, we all look forward to different things. Some of us head to the beach, others to the mountains for camping. Some look forward to the epicurean delights like watermelon and ice cones. But for a select group of photographers in Japan, summer signals the arrival of fireflies. Tiny Fireflies have spread across the woods like paper lanterns, amazing and showcase breathtaking beauty of our nature. The specific time is very short periods typically occurs from May and June, from around 7 to 9pm. These photographers set off to secret locations all around Japan; eager to capture to magical beauty which will fade if sunlight penetrates. But make sure, one thing that makes these photographs so enchanted is that they capture views that the naked eye is simply unable of seeing. The photographs are usually composites, meaning that they syndicate anywhere from 10 to 200 of the exact same frame.

That’s why it looks like swarms of countless fireflies have occupied the forest, when in actuality it’s much less. But that’s not to discount these photographs, which need insider information, equipment, ability and patience. Moreover, fireflies live for only about 10 days and they’re exceptionally sensitive. They respond negatively to any form of light and pollution, making finding them half the battle. The tiny winged beetles portraying images of this mystical glow is an accomplishment for most nature photographers. This small special moment of beauty is shared with the world through photos. Even though the real life views may be somewhat less dramatic, locals and tourists flock to magical events each year that celebrate the critters in all their glory. Therefore, here you have a chance to see some a selection of our favorites from the 2016 summer season.
