Dutch Architect Plans First 100% Eco City Complete with Tree-Scrapers Beautifully Covered in Foliage

This is latest concept how we'll live in the future? In Raimond de Hullu’s city of the future, an idea of people live in tree-scrapers made from recycled wood and covered in leafy foliage for protection from the elements and energy conservation purposes. A Dutch architect has revealed his idea for the world’s first 100 % eco city and it’s nothing like the way we live now. The lush green utopia is set in city woodland with no sign of any transport or overhead power lines and intended to be totally energy and water self-sufficient. However it is named The “OAS1S Foundation”, the model showcases four-floor buildings that use triple glazing windows and solar panels. Moreover inside the off-grid homes, the interiors are decked with striking glass halls, skylights, large windows and French balconies. The Raimond said: well, you just imagine a treehouse combined with modern luxury living with nothing but green around you.

The “OAS1S” architecture answers to the deep human need to become one with nature. What is required to be 100% green concept not only on architectural level but on urban level as well, which is desirable and affordable too. Although “OAS1S” brings competitive middle-class housing for people who demand high-quality and green standard of living. The idea is universal and can be applicable on both urban as well as natural settings. He grew up in the southern Dutch countryside and spent most of his time in the forest or at the beach. That’s why I love nature very much and when my father started to build a house I fell in love with architecture. I always was spellbound by both, and loving about creating a fusion between them.

Exquisite Home Embedded in Cliff will Feel You’re Under the Sea

Well, it is set flush against a cliff overlooking the Aegean Sea is Casa Brutale, a unique home concept that’d exactly have you living life on the edge. The creative project was presented by Open Platform for Architecture (OPA). The majestically beautiful sleek, modern design conceals almost the full unit within rock. In consequences, there’s comparatively little impact to the surrounding environment. Moreover, some areas of “Casa Brutale” are visible from the outside, two of which are its surface swimming pool and a set of steps. A short descent takes you into the main living space, which has a massive glass facade and furnish memorable views throughout the whole residence even though from your sleeping bed. Hence to avoid disparaging from the natural beauty of the scenic environment, decor is minimal and features cool concrete surfaces offset by elegant aged wood.

Furthermore to the architecture's complementing integration in the earth, nature has a big role within the home; both the front glazing and the home’s roof function as sources of natural light. The skylight in fact doubles the glass-bottomed pool, permitting swimmers to gaze below. It also creates an exclusive effect if you’re within the space. Therefore, the sun passes through the billowing body of water, and the liquid diffuses the light, reflecting dazzling patterns onto Casa Brutale’s floors and walls. This unique home design will feel you that you’re under the sea.Source: My Modernmet

Glowworms Transform Cave into a Fascinating Starry Sky

By venturing into the 30-million-year-old limestone caves in New Zealand's North Island, the skilled photographer Joseph Michael was able to save enchanting photographs of the glowworms that call this place home. Because against the natural backdrop that the cave offers, it looks as though there is hundreds of miniature, blue-tinted stars, but this is in fact the work of glowworms recognized as Arachnocampa luminosa. Therefore, using a long-exposure method, the photographer was able to catch the glowworm larvae and their enchanting light in a way that makes the limestone formation look as though it's an indoor, starry sky.

Hence, if you look the close-up photographs, you may feel that something is hanging from the bioluminescent gnat larvae. These are the twinkling larvae's nests, which are composed of up to 70 silk threads that contain droplets of mucus. In order to entice prey into these threads, the larvae glow bright, but not all continue to do so once they become adults. Male glowworms will stop glowing a few days after emerging from the nest, while the females' glow will rise in order to appeal a mate. With this there should be in mind, it seems that the photographer caught the glowworms at the impeccable time for his Luminosity series.
